For most people, the United Arab Emirates means just one place: Dubai, city of unreal skyscrapers, man-made islands, huge malls, indoor ski slopes and endless beaches with blue sea.
But beyond sparkles of Dubai, there are six more emirates, each with its own character and features. UAE emerged from the deserts, and showed the whole world how fast and steady it can grow. Not only rivers of oil do drive UAE, but they also have a lot of other opportunities for anyone to start and grow his/her business.
A tax-free structure, stable economics and other factors bring UAE to the top of the list of the world’s most successive business environment. Nowadays company registration in UAE is no more a hassle.
With a help of a qualified agent you can start your business saving your time and money.
When you plan to expand your business by means of a UAE company, you should ask yourself these basic questions:
The answers to these questions help to determine, whether you need an offshore, a freezone or a local company.
Offshore companies can be 100%-owned by a foreign (non-UAE) citizen, and can perform a multi-task business outside UAE market.
Freezone companies can provide services or trade with the specific goods, mentioned in their trade licenses on the territory of the jurisdiction of registration and worldwide. Such companies can also be 100%-owned by a foreigner.
Companies, registered outside the free trade zones (in mainland), have a legal requirement to be owned for not more than 49% by foreign citizens and 51% must be owned by a citizen of the United Arab Emirates. However, in practice, as mentioned above, most of the business can be operated within free trade zones, and only in some cases, business registration in mainland becomes absolutely necessary.
In addition to the above, it is worth noting that some companies, which provide professional services, such as law firms, accounting and consulting companies operating outside the UAE free trade zone can 100%-owned by a foreign citizen (Sole Establishment). These companies must have a local agent (UAE citizen), who will represent the company when dealing with public authorities on issues of UAE visas for staff and in contact with other government bodies of the United Arab Emirates. The InterPoint team have established trustworthy business relations with many local agents, who can serve your company like no one else.
